Traffic Advisory for SONA 2022

The Quezon City Police District, QC Task Force on Transport and Traffic Management in coordination with MMDA will implement a traffic re-routing plan for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s first State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 25, 2022.

The Zipper Lane from Tandang Sora to University Avenue WILL BE CLOSED on Monday, July 25, 2022 to make way for SONA. The Zipper Lane will resume on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes as heavy traffic along Commonwealth Avenue is expected:

FOR MOTORISTS COMING FROM EDSA GOING TO FAIRVIEW:
Either turn left at Mindanao Avenue or North Avenue continue via Sauyo Road or Quirino Highway going to their point of destination.

FOR MOTORISTS COMING FROM EDSA:
a. Take Aurora Boulevard, take the flyover going to A. Bonifacio, turn left at JP Rizal, then turn left at Batasan – San Mateo Road going to point of destination

b. Take Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue straight up to Katipunan crossing, straight to FVR Road, turn left at SM Marikina, turn right to A. Bonifacio, turn left at JP Rizal, then turn left at Batasan – San Mateo Road going to point of destination

FOR MOTORISTS COMING FROM C5:
c. Take/turn right at FVR Road, turn left at SM Marikina, turn right at A. Bonifacio, turn left at JP Rizal, then turn left at Batasan – San Mateo Road going to point of destination

Portion of IBP Road corner Sinagtala Street up to corner of Batasan – San Mateo Road shall be closed to traffic.

FOR MOTORISTS COMING FROM COMMONWEATLH AVENUE:
Take IBP Road, turn right at Sinagtala Street, then turn left at Congressional Road, straight to Batasan – San Mateo Road going to point of destination.

FOR MOTORISTS COMING FROM PAYATAS:
Turn right at Batasan – San Mateo Road or Commonwealth Avenue going to point of destination.

All concerned motorists are advised to take alternate routes. Thank you.
