C40 Cities Executive Director Mark Watts commends the Quezon City Government for its climate action initiatives and its commitment to create good, green jobs.

On Tuesday, Mayor Belmonte met with Watts and C40 Managing Director of Inclusion and Global Leadership Caterina Sarfatti and discussed the cities’ efforts to combat the harmful effects of climate change.

During their meeting, Watts expressed his admiration for the city government’s innovative climate strategies such as the Grow QC urban farming program, promotion of healthy public food, solarization of city-run facilities, and green fleet transition.

He also praised the city’s project of producing interactive storybooks for the youth and children with disabilities, through the Inclusive Climate Action Cities Fund (ICA Fund).

Mayor Belmonte, Coun. Joseph Juico, and Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD) Head Andrea Villaroman are currently in New York City to represent Quezon City in the United Nations Climate Ambition Summit (UNCAS).
