Ibinahagi ni Mayor Joy Belmonte ang mga programa ng Quezon City Government sa pagtugon sa climate change, sa pagbisita ng mga kinatawan ng US Embassy- Environment, Science, Technology, and Health sa QC Hall ngayong umaga.

Kabilang sa mga inisyatibo na binanggit ni Mayor Joy ay ang pagbuo ng Enhanced Local Climate Change Action Plan (ELCCAP), Organic Waste Management, Food Security initiative, Trash To Cashback, solarization ng mga pampublikong gusali, at Healthy Food Procurement policy. Isa rin ang Quezon City sa mga aktibong siyudad na miyembro ng C40 Cities at CityNet na nagsusulong ng climate justice and sustainable community.

Sina Mr. Reed Schuyler, Ms Jennifer Schuch-Page, at Lorenzo New ang naging kinatawan ng US Embassy, habang sina Mayor Joy, Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD) Head Andrea Villaroman, at Local Economic Investment and Promotions Office (LEIPO) chief Jay Gatmaitan, at CCESD Acting Assistant Head Vincent Vinarao naman mula sa lokal na pamahalaan.

Ang pagbisita ng US Embassy ay bahagi ng kanilang inisyatibo upang alamin kung ano pa ang maaaring itulong ng kanilang bansa sa mga siyudad tulad ng Quezon City sa pagtugon sa pabago-bagong klima.
