The Quezon City Government has opened various opportunities for female QCitizens, such as the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) and training programs, including the electric and mechanical skills training program, to broaden their knowledge and hone their skills.
Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE)
In partnership with SPARK! Philippines, the QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office (SBCDPO), has established an academy that provides support to QC-based women entrepreneurs, including POP QC members, and small business owners.
AWE offers women entrepreneurs a three-month training program that provides them with knowledge, skills, and access to various networks that will assist them in promoting and growing their enterprises.
Apart from that, the local government has established additional training programs through the Social Services Development Department (SSDD). Some of the programs offered cover electric and mechanical skills training, as well as Barista, Pastry Making, and Tailoring courses, which may assist women participants in obtaining jobs or starting their own businesses.
To learn more about the city’s women’s skills training programs, kindly contact the respective departments in charge: the QC Gender and Development (GAD) Council Office and QC SBCDPO.
