On March 23, 1973, Barangay Don Manuel was established under Executive Order No. 31, Resolution No. 9202, Series of 1972, by the Honorable City Council of Quezon City.
The first elected officials of the new Barangay were Alberto M. Rios, Vicente Ong, Nicolas Abrantes, Jorge Francisco, Geronimo Mallilin, Enrique Acuña, Bienvenido Parcero, Tex D. Carillo, Antonio Pagkalinawan II, and Victor Toledo.
