The Quirino District was formed in 1951 in honor of the former President Elpidio Quirino. In 1975, the Quezon City government divided in into 5 different barangays including Barangay Quirino 2-B.
With a land area of 14.5 hectares, Barangay Quirino 2-B was created under Executive Order No. 30 Presidential Decrees No. 86 & 210. It is bounded on the north by the NAWASA Pipeline, on the east by Langka St., on the west by Anonas St., and on the south by Tampoy St. along Buaya Creek.
