Barangay San Roque began in 1932, when Doña Magdalena Hemady’s land donation was made into Camp Murphy, a military camp named after the American Military Governor of the Islands, Gen. Frank Murphy. On May 3, 1936, after the establishment of the camp, the community had Col. Mariano N. Castañeda, the Commanding Officer of Camp Murphy, as the first Teniente del Barrio.
On November 21, 1974, R.A. 3590 was amended and all barrios in the Philippines were became barangays. After the EDSA Revolution in 1986, Mayor Brigido R. Simon, Jr., appointed the Barangay Officials of Barangay San Roque.
