The Quezon City Government, through the Quezon City Kabahagi Center for Children with Disabilities, has implemented multiple initiatives, including the Inclusive Arts Program and Sama-Aralan for Independent Living Skills (SAILS), which aims to foster creativity and impart knowledge on important life skills, particularly for Children with Disabilities.
Inclusive Arts Program
Under the program, the children with disabilities are engaged in visual artistic activities and collaborative projects with partner stakeholders that help in their holistic development. With this established supportive and welcoming environment, children can come together and express themselves, build connections with other children, and even explore their artistic potential. The program primarily aims to foster inclusivity and creativity among the participants.
Sama-Aralan for Independent Living Skills
To help the children with disabilities navigate the challenges and responsibilities brought by adulthood, KABAHAGI’s Sama-Aralan for Independent Living Skills (SAILS) focuses on the promotion of the development of important life skills. Under the program, they gain knowledge and are assisted in enhancing their home care abilities, communication skills, self-help skills, time and money management, and decision-making.
