The city’s education stakeholders gathered yesterday at the 2022 Basic Education Planning Workshop. The outcome of this workshop will be used to formulate the Basic Education Medium-term Plan for the years 2023-2025.
Spearheaded by Mayor Joy Belmonte through the Education Affairs Unit, under Ms. Maricris Veloso, the workshop gathered representatives from the different sectors such as students, parents, teachers, principals, barangay, city officials, and the Schools Division Office of Quezon City, to convene on the concerns affecting learners’ education, possible solutions, and commitments of each sector.
In her message, Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized the importance of crafting a basic education plan that is inclusive, modern, resilient, and adaptable to all kinds of situations.
The workshop was also attended by Councilor Irene Belmonte, Barangay Community and Relations Department (BCRD) chief Ricky Corpuz, Quezon City University president Dr. Theresita Atienza, QC Public School Teachers Association president Kristhean Navales, and QC General Parent-Teachers Association President Fernan Gana, and representatives from the barangay.
