Regular employees of the Quezon City Government are now protected from the burden of healthcare costs as the local government enrolled them under healthcare and insurance plans.
The healthcare plans cover 5,962 current regular city government employees and new hires with one year of coverage. These were procured in agreeemnt with government-owned Cocolife.
This is the first initiative of its kind in the city government’s history. Under the plan, the employess or ‘member’ is entitled to a maximum benefit limit of P100,000.00 per illness in a year.
Other benefits include annula physical examination, out-patient services such as diagnostic procedures, minor surgeries, speech and physical therapy, prenatal and postmatal care, dental coverage, and life insurance.
The government is also exploring other flexible terms to extend these to healthcare plans to non-plantilla employees.
