The local government of Quezon City, in partnership with sustainable housing startup BillionBricks, has unveiled the city’s first net-zero home.

The Sienna Net-Zero Model House, located at the BillionBricks Experience Center in Barangay Bagong Silangan, is a 49-square-meter unit that will be used as a daycare center for the local community.

A net-zero home is designed to generate as much energy as it consumes, making it both sustainable and affordable. It features an innovative solar roofing system called PowerShade Technology, which allows the building to generate all its electricity needs.

This project is part of the city’s broader commitment to advancing sustainable development and environmental stewardship while providing essential services to Quezon City communities.
