WHO MAY REGISTER:
- At least eighteen (18) years of age on or before the day of the National and Local Elections;
- A resident of the Philippines for at least one (1) year and in the place where he or she would vote for at least six (6) months preceding the National and Local Elections
REQUIREMENTS FOR VOTER REGISTRATION
Bring any of the following documents:
- Postal ID;
- PWD Discount ID;
- Student’s ID or Library card;
- Senior Citizen’s ID;
- Driver’s License;
- NBI Clearance;
- Philippine Passport;
- IBP ID;
- PRC License;
- NCIP Certificate of Confirmation;
- SSS/GSIS ID or other UMID card;
- Barangay Identification/Certification with photo;
- National identification (ID) card under PhilSys;
- Any other Government-issued valid ID.
NOTE: Community Tax Certificates (cedula) and Philippine National Police (PNP) clearance shall not be honored as valid identification documents for the purpose of voter registration.
PROCESS FOR FIRST-TIME VOTERS:
- You can print out one copy of the filled out prescribed registration/application form (Revised CEF-1-A -Application form) in a long bond paper or you can opt to ask for a copy onsite.
- *If you print your own copy, do not affix any signatures yet*
- Head to the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) at the COMELEC office near you.
- Present any of the accepted identification documents that bear your photograph and signature.
- Get a copy of the prescribed application form unless you have already brought your printed and duly accomplished application form downloaded from the official COMELEC website.
- Accomplish the application form and submit it to the Election Officer, who will give it back to you with the application form number.
- *Titles should not be included as part of the applicant name*
- Get your biometrics taken by the VRM operator.
- Affix your signature on the appropriate space in the form in front of the Election officer.
- Submit the completed application form.
- Receive the Acknowledgment Receipt and proof of filing.
NOTE: If the ID does not state the place of residence, the Election Officer may ask for more supporting documents.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CHANGE OR CORRECTION OF ENTRY:
For cases of name change due to marriage
- Certification by the solemnizing officer;
- Marriage contract or court order with certificate of finality;
- Order by the Civil Registrar or Consul General.
*For other types of application, bring one or more of the above-mentioned documents.*
For cases of wrong information
- Court Order or an Order of the Civil Registrar
- Supporting documents
PROCESS FOR CHANGE OR CORRECTION OF ENTRY:
- Head to the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) at the COMELEC office near you.
- The registered voter shall file an application for correction of entry in the registration record by accomplishing the prescribed application form.
- Present documents that support your claim.
- The Election Officer will verify your record.
- The VRM operator will correct your voter records.
- Get your biometrics taken.
