HMFD is an illness caused by non-polio enteroviruses, which includes coxsackievirus. It is contagious, commonly affecting kids below 5 years old, but can be cured within 7-10 days.
SYMPTOMS:
- Fever
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Loss of appetite
- Rashes on the arms
- Mouth and tongue wound
- Foot rashes
HOW IT IS TRANSMITTED:
- Close contact with someone with HFMD
- Touching contaminated items of people with HFMD
- Sneezing and coughing
- From the feces of someone with HFMD
HOW TO AVOID HFMD:
- Make it a habit to wash your hands thoroughly and use alcohol or hand sanitizer after using the C.R.
- Make it a habit to clean and disinfect the toys or items of children and properly dispose of diapers.
- Make it a habit to cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze and cough.
- Make it a habit to wear a facemask if experiencing the symptoms.

MGA SINTOMAS:
- Lagnat
- Pananakit ng ulo
- Pananakit ng lalamunan
- Pagkawalang ganang kumain
- Rashes sa kamay
- Sugat sa bibig at dila
- Rashes sa talampakan
PARAAN NG PAGKAHAWA:
- Malapitang kontak o pakikisalamuha sa taong may HFMD.
- Paghawak sa mga kontaminadong bagay / gamit ng taong may HFMD.
- Pagbahing at pag-ubo.
- Mula sa dumi ng taong may HFMD.
PAANO MAIIWASAN ANG HFMD:
- Ugaliin ang wastong paghuhugas ng kamay at paggamit ng alcohol o hand sanitizer pagkatapos gumamit ng C.R.
- Ugaliin ang paglilinis at pag-disinfect ng mga laruan o gamit ng bata at proper disposal ng diaper.
- Ugaliin na takpan ang bibig at ilong kapag bumahing o umuubo.
- Ugaliin ang pagsuot ng facemask kung may naramdamang sintomas.
