On June 25, 1975, Barrio Loyola Heights became Barangay Loyola Heights when Quezon City Mayor Norberto S. Amoranto signed Executive Order No. 24 by virtue of Presidential Decree 557. Loyola Heights maintained the same territorial jurisdiction it had when it was still a barrio.
In 1988, Barangay Loyola Heights was reconfigured to be part of Area 15, District III together with Barangays Pansol and Matandang Balara.
