Barangay St. Ignatius is a relatively small community. Comprising an area of 24 hectares, the barangay is located just south of the intersection of Katipunan and Boni Serrano (Santolan) Avenues. The village was constituted into a local government unit in 1973, although the jurisdiction of Barangay St. Ignatius also encompasses the parallel areas along C-5 in Libis which lie outside the boundaries of the subdivision.
While the affairs of government in the village are run by the Barangay Council, many basic community services are being provided with the logistical support of the St. Ignatius Village Association (SIVA). The working synergy between the Barangay Council and the SIVA Board best exemplifies what government action can do with the help of private initiative.
