The Quezon City Government, through the Social Services Development Department (SSDD), offers free burial and funeral assistance to indigent QCitizens with the aid of local government-accredited partner funeral parlors.
Implemented under the City Ordinance SP-2868, S-2019, the program aims to help the bereaved family provide decent funeral services for their departed loved ones.
For Burial Assistance, the city government issues guarantee letters for the funeral contract with an amount not more than 25,000, depending on the corresponding amount of coverage.
For Funeral Assistance, listed below are the Funeral Package Inclusions:
- Retrieval of human remains from place of death (within Quezon City).
- Embalming and funeral arrangement of viewing place for 7 days.
- Use of white casket (OMS)
- 1 Standing Flower Arrangement
- Tarpaulin
- Provision of hearse for interment
- Registration of death certificate
- Securing of burial/cremation permit
- Interment arrangement at city-owned cemetery (Bagbag and Novaliches Public Cemetery)
As of April 2025, 32,339 have benefited from the program and were able to provide decent funeral services for their loved ones who passed away.
