In light of the pandemic and as part of the city’s recovery plan, the Grow QC: Kasama ka sa Pag−unlad sa Pagkain, Kabuhayan, at Kalusugan program conducted a soft launch for the Grow QC Community Kitchen held at Don Antonio Heights, Barangay Holy Spirit.
The community Kitchen aims to serve 300 to 500 bowls of Nutri−lugaw or nutrient enriched meals to feed the most vulnerable, undernourished, and in need members of the city. The meals will use the ingredients sourced from the city’s urban community farms.
The entire program is in coordination with the City Health Department−Nutrition Section for nutritious recipes, the Social Services Development Department (SSDD) and Barangay and Community Relations Department (BCRD) for the coordination of the barangays, Joy of Urban Farming for the vegetables from our community farms, and City Engineering Department (QCDE) for the refurnishing of the community kitchen. The kitchen is one of the seven action plans of the Grow QC: Kasama Ka sa Pag−unlad sa Pagkain, Kabuhayan, at Kalusugan Program of the Food Security Task Force (QCFSTF).
