The local government of Quezon City has been selected as the pilot city to have its Community WiFi.

Through the Community Wifi Advocates,  WiKonek Community Wifi will be installed in Payatas as the pilot barangay.  The community will be provided with 50MB Free Internet Connection with a Fiber-like internet speed through the use of the Tarragraph tehnology of Facebook Connectivity.  This is the first time Tarragraph technology will be used in the country.

This program will help advance the city’s initiatives to connect all QCitizens to the programs and services of the local government, especially with the move to convert services online.

The program aims to  install at least 1000 access points in the city especially in the depressed areas. Beyond the 50MB, users who wish being connected may avail of more data starting with just P1.00 and other options of up to P20.00 for the coin terminal payments.  Over the counter purchase will also be made available in selected sari-sari stores.
