The Quezon City Government has built the Tandang Sora Women’s Museum to honor and commemorate the country’s “Ina ng Katipunan at Himagsikan” – Melchora Aquino de Ramos or Tandang Sora.

Under the Tandang Sora section, the museum houses the biography of Tandang Sora and why she was named ‘Ina ng Katipunan at Himagsikan”. It also contains the different artifacts – items she used in her daily life.

Aside from Tandang Sora, the museum also displays the different stories of women who fought for the country’s freedom from the Babaylans, to women of revolution, to contemporary women’s movement as an evidence for the ongoing documentation of our stories.

Through this museum, Tandang Sora’s virtues, especially her courage to help the Katipuneros were highlighted. It also aims to exhibit the continuous ‘HerStorical’ efforts to raise every woman’s state of living and their contributions in nation building.

The museum is open from 9 am to 5 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, located at the Tandang Sora Shrine.
