The local government of Quezon City, through its Human Resource Management Department (QC HRMD), has launched a comprehensive internship program for college and senior high school students interested in pursuing a career in government.
In cooperation with various city departments, the internship program primarily aims to provide students and interested non-students with exposure to and experience in government work.
Under the program, the participants undergo QC HRMD orientation on the core values and ethics of public servants, as well as career guidance and employment coaching workshops led by the Public Employment Service Office (QC PESO).
The Quezon City Veterinary Department (QCVD) also offers internship opportunities, allowing aspiring veterinarians to learn and gain hands-on experience in animal care and adoption, rabies prevention and control, and spaying and neutering.
As of 2025, the program has acquired 1,950 applicants from Quezon City University (QCU), Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Carlos P. Romulo Senior High School, National University (NU) Fairview, and Lucrecia R. Kasilag Senior High School, since it was first established in 2022.
The Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) has hosted the highest number of interns, with 325, followed by QC HRMD, the Department of Engineering (QCDE), the Parks Development and Administration Department (PDAD), and the Quezon City Tourism Department (QCTD), making Quezon City a top choice for SHS and college students seeking on-the-job training (OJT).
