The Quezon City local government has started the rehabilitation of Balara Filters Park as part of its goal to provide a greener, pet- friendly and more open space for every QCitizen to enjoy. This transformation aims to provide every QCitizen a place to relax and have fun with their family and friends. 

Listed below are the areas that underwent rehabilitation and restoration:

  • Picnic Grove – more plants chairs, newly painted picnic tables and benches were provided 
  • Comfort rooms and PWD ramps were repaired.
  • Dog Park for fur pets.

New additions in the park: 

  • Firehouse structure to serve as the park’s registration and information booth. 
  • Water stations for the visitors.

Future areas to be renovated and added: 

  • Windmill Park  
  • A. Gideon Playground
  • Grotto 
  • Balara Swimming Pool 
  • Pedro Tobias Park 
  • Pavilion
  • Tower to display Balara History. 
  • Skating Park

Balara Filters Park was established in 1953, making it one of the oldest recreational parks in Quezon City.
