With the implementation of City Ordinance SP-2942 S2020 or the Bicycle Riders Helmet Ordinance of Quezon City which mandates every bicycle riders to wear protective helmets, the city government has given free helmets to bike riding public.

The city made sure that the riders are safe by wearing protective helmets while traversing the city streets and highways.
The Department of Public Order and Safety led the program. As early as October 1, DPOS has begun reminding the riders about the ordinance and gave free helmets. Riders who cannot afford to buy one are prioritized when the city distributed free helmets.
At the start of the ordinance’s implementation on October 31, bikers caught with no helmets are warned and fined and at the same time were also provided with free protective helmets.
Since October 1, the city has given away 3500 helmets to the bicycle riding public residing and/ or working in Quezon City.
