The Quezon City Government, through the QC Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), continues to promote energy efficiency and clean technology in the transport sector by distributing electronic-trikes (e-trikes) to its various departments, barangays, and TODA in the city.
Under the program, the driver/operator-beneficiaries undergo necessary training and receive other incentives to make their e-trike operations more sustainable.
With the QC E-trike Project, the QC LGU primarily aims to reduce carbon footprint, save on gasoline consumption, and associated carbon emissions related to pollution.
To provide essential charging support to e-trike beneficiaries, three fully operational charging stations have been established at Amoranto Sports Complex, Batasan Hills TODA, and Payatas Motorpool, all donated by Meralco.
The city government has also established a Green Zone Area in District 4, comprising Barangays Paligsahan, Obrero, Sacred Heart, Kalusugan, and Kristong Hari, wherein e-trikes are only allowed to travel within the routes.
As of October 2025, a total of 190 e-trikes have been distributed to TODA and barangay beneficiaries, while 5 e-trikes were deployed to the city government departments.
This initiative is part of the city’s commitment to the environment and MJB’s 14-point agenda towards a green and eco-friendly city.
