The United Nations Development Programme and the Japanese Government have provided the city with biodigesteres that turns organic waste to liquid fertilizers.

Organic waste such as water used for cleaning fruits and vegetables are processed and converted to become liquid fertilizers or biogas used for cooking.

At present, the city has 31 biodegesteres that helps the city in achieving its goal to reduce by 50% waste being brought to the city’s landfills.
