The Quezon City Government through the QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office has introduced livelihood programs that aims to provide support, and opportunity for women in the city to help them improve their economic status and sustain their needs.
In 2013, the city government launched ‘Tindahan ni Ate Joy’ which provides economic support that will enable target recipients to be self-reliant and to recognize them as partners in QC’s economic growth rather than see them only as beneficiaries of the City’s social programs and services. It benefits home-bound mothers, solo parents, people with disabilities (PWDS), survivors of violence and abuse, and wives of drug dependents undergoing treatment in community rehabilitation centers.

Provided with their own starter sewing kits, they have also formed the Quezon City Sewing Community from various parts of the city which aims to create a women’s cooperative.
In partnership with SPARK Philippines, the city government has embarked on another program with the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE). The goal of this program which provides virtual and in-person training is to allow the women participants to grow and hone their entrepreneurial skills even more.

In connection with the No Women Left Behind program and in cooperation with local fashion designers and community artisans, the local government also made the POP QC-Kolab Promoting QC’s Artisans possible.
